In South Vietnam, Phu Quoc Island is perfect for a romantic getaway.

It boasts serene sunsets, idyllic beaches, lush green forests, and a relaxed pace of life, making it ideal for couples who want to escape the big city’s stresses and hustle.

Moreover, the northern section of Phu Quoc Island is relatively untouched and is a recognized UNESCO national park.

However, that’s not to say that there isn’t fun to be had – there are plenty of funky bars, luxury resorts, cool cafes along the southern coastline, and plenty of sites of historical interest, too.

Con Dao Islands

The Con Dao Islands are a group of 16 uninhabited islets located just south of the Vietnamese coast.

Each island offers an opportunity to spot wildlife like barracudas, stingrays, dugongs, and moray eels in their natural habitats.

However, those who wish to enjoy the nature on offer across each Con Dao Island must arrange their visit with the Con Dao National Park HQ.

Those who want to indulge in exciting scuba diving and snorkeling could do worse than spend some time on one of the eight Cham Islands.

Food and accommodation are relatively cheap in the area. However, it’s worth noting that tourists are not allowed to rent motorcycles to get around – so bear that in mind before planning any excursions!

Vung Tau Island

Vung Tau is often called Vietnam’s “playground of the rich.”

It’s the perfect getaway from the country’s more urban, built-up sprawl, and visitors can enjoy golfing, swimming, and snorkeling.

It’s also home to some quaint and historic temples that date back to the 1700s.

Tourists who want to experience metropolitan Vietnam will find everything they want on Cat Ba Island. Most tour companies offer daily trips to the island, which is chock-full of restaurants, bars, and hotels.

Cat Ba Island also features a national park with a network of caves fitted with artificial lighting.

Hon Tre is perhaps best known for its Vinpearl Amusement Park, which features a variety of rides, an aquarium, a shopping mall, and a theater.

Visitors can expect to pay an entrance fee of VND 1,100,000, including a buffet lunch, return speedboat transfers, and access to the beach.
